Don Lombard S RRT

We are able to take care of those disabled that also require monitoring of g-tubes, tracheostomies, bi-pap, complicated medication regimens, seizure precautions and respiratory issues.

Also, it is important for parents and caregivers to know the importance of having a trained professional when dealing with tracheostomies. There is a very high risk for lung infections when untrained personnel handle this issue. We are traind for this.

Our group home provides 24/7 care by licensed medical professionals only. We are able to take care of those disabled that also require monitoring of g-tubes, tracheostomies, bi-pap, complicated medication regimens, seizure precautions and respiratory issues. We strive to maintain infection control, privacy and individuality in our group home by always providing private rooms. There is no sharing of bedrooms in our group home, and they are all private rooms? Also, our staffing to client ration is 1:1 to ensure safety and that the needs of our clients are met in a secure and timely fashion. All of our staff are required to complete continuing education units related to the developmentally disabled including such topics as recognition of seizures, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, psychiatric issues, respiratory disorders and diseases, cardiac disorders and diseases, contractures, prevention of decubitus ulcers and skin breakdown.

Also, it is important for parents and caregivers to know the importance of having a trained professional when dealing with tracheostomies. There is a very high risk for lung infections when untrained personnel handle this issue. We are traind for this.

Special Potential Cindy is a Florida licensed RN with experience in intensive care and home health.

Special Potential works to provide caring, quality healthcare to patients. We believe that by encouraging a supportive, respectful working environment we can enhance the professional growth of our staff and well being of our patients.

Don is a licensed Respiratory Therapist and provides geriatric respiratory medicine. Don has years of experience in pediatric and adult intensive care. Don Lombard also holds a bachelors degree in hotel and restaurant  management.  Our menus are always recorded. We cater to all the dietary needs of our clients whether they be diabetic or have food allergies, etc.

Also Don evaluates patients, respiratory therapists interview them, perform limited physical examinations, and conduct diagnostic tests. For example, respiratory therapists test a patient’s breathing capacity and determine the concentration of oxygen and other gases in a patient’s blood. They also measure a patient’s pH, which indicates the acidity or alkalinity of the blood. To evaluate a patient’s lung capacity, respiratory therapists have the patient breathe into an instrument that measures the volume and flow of oxygen during inhalation and exhalation. By comparing the reading with the norm for the patient’s age, height, weight, and sex, respiratory therapists can provide information that helps determine whether the patient has any lung deficiencies. To analyze oxygen, carbon dioxide, and blood pH levels, therapists draw an arterial blood sample, place it in a blood gas analyzer, and relay the results to a physician, who then makes treatment decisions.

Our group home is committed to the health and safety of all our clients.
